The Earl
Clark Roast
"A Night Nashville Will Never Forget"
Pictured here is Earl
Clark, sitting on a stool singing. He's just as much at home doing that as
he is sitting somewhere writing a song. Behind Earl, playing the guitar,
is Earl's friend, Clay Canfield. Clay was just one of many that was
present at The Earl Clark Roast.
This show is 50 minutes of great interviews and music
honoring a much deserved individual. There is no more of an honor that can
be paid to a man than the honor paid to him by those that share his craft
(his peers).
50 minutes did not give us nearly enough time to talk to
everyone we wanted to talk to that was at the roast. The one we regret the
most not having on the show was Earl, himself. He was too busy being
roasted and singing those hit songs of his, but have no fear, because we
are planning on doing a radio show with Earl in the near future. He can
tell us then how he must have been affected by the roast.
One person we did get on the phone, but is missing from the
show, is Tommy Barnes. During our recording with Tommy we had technical
difficulties and the recording did not come out. However, have no fear,
because we are, also, planning on doing a show with Tommy in the near
future.
This show includes interviews with some of Nashville's
greatest songwriters. Hopefully, you are listening to the show while you
are reading this, so you will know who they are. The show includes some of
Earl's songs being sung by the ones who made them famous (George Strait,
Tracy Lawrence, Tanya Tucker, & Emilio).
Special thanks goes out to Flash Flanagan for the great job
he did of being the host on the spot at the club during the roast. A
special thanks, also, goes out to Miss Barbara for making sure there is a
spot like this for such great talent to gather.
The roast was done at Hotel Preston, located in Nashville, TN
at 733 Briley Parkway Nashville, Tennessee, 37214. There is
entertainment every night of the week at Hotel Preston. The Entertainment
is hosted by Miss Barbara. When visiting Nashville make sure you visit
Hotel Preston and enjoy some of the great entertainment going on there. As
a matter of fact, you may as well stay there. It's real easy to get to all
the attractions in Nashville from there, and it is a great place to stay.
