ANGRY COUNTRY RE-STRUCTURES

Angry Country has added new site features, moved to a new server, and hired a new webmaster. The new features include a searchable database to quickly find all articles and press releases, new "web resources" allowing publicists and managers to add their internet links directly through the website, and a calendar allowing publicists and managers to list concert dates, special events and other dates of note. Readers can now instantly add their comments to articles and press releases. The Geeklog-based system allows for faster processing of news, ensuring all articles and press releases are posted the day they are received.

The new webmaster, Thomas Rhodes of Atlanta, GA, takes over effective February 1st. Thomas has six years experience working with server and software packages such as those used on AngryCountry. Although a long time fan of country music, this is Thomas' first job in the music industry. Rhodes replaces our current webmaster (and founder of AngryCountry) Michael Allison, who is stepping-down from the position due to ongoing health issues.

Visitors come to Angry Country looking for country newcomers as well as the current chart-toppers. All country music related genres are covered, including bluegrass, Texas country, and Christian Country.

The name "Angry Country" comes from the less common interpretation of the word: sharp; keen; stimulated. Enraged by the lack of real news and updates on country music artists, Angry Country decided to create a public forum for that information to be gathered and distributed. While the website was created out of frustration, the anger, in the traditional sense of the word, has subsided a bit as they've begun to learn how Nashville works. But their attitude and focus remains the same: Great music should always be heard. Angry Country is not impressed by an artist's ranking on the charts, or their power in the industry. It's about the music. Be it a multi-platinum artist or a newcomer playing open-mic nights in the smallest clubs and bars...if the music is great, they want to hear it; and they want their readers to know it's out there!
