Evergreen Signs Christopher Wayne Morris

NASHVILLE, Tennessee-In what appears to have come out of a label signing textbook, Evergreen Records has announced the signing of Christopher Wayne Morris to the label.

Morris was first sighted performing at Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, lower Broadway, downtown Nashville by engineer Dennis Money who oversees the studio activity for Evergreen's related publishing companies. Money made efforts to convince company President Johnny Morris (no relation to Christopher) to see Christopher perform. After several attempts, Money decided to schedule Christopher to record some publishing demos for Evergreen. After hearing the recordings, Johnny became excited in Christopher's potential as a writer and an artist. Johnny Morris made the decision to reactivate his Evergreen Records label, which had been inactive for a several years.

A native of Lexington, North Carolina, Christopher Morris' first singing dates were in San Antonio, Texas at Fiesta Texas and the Blue Bonnet Palace. After opening a show for Diamond Rio, lead singer Marty Roe encouraged Christopher to make the move to Nashville. "Nashville is one big contest and you must be present to win," Roe offered, prompting Christopher to pack his bags and move the next day.

Christopher's first Evergreen release entitled "Small Town" is set for March 22 with the debut album to follow in late April.

According to Evergreen President Johnny Morris, "Christopher has the total package-great country voice, strong songwriting skills, and that special something that tells you he's a star."

Evergreen Records is located at:
1021 16th Avenue South
Nashville, TN 37212

Jane is a singer/songwriter from the UK who recently released her debut album titled 'Close Up And Real'.

To date, she has sold over 2000 copies and is currently the highest selling artist at CDWOW, where she has been number one of the unsigned chart for 14 consecutive weeks.

What makes Jane's story unusual is that until a year ago she was a very 'ordinary housewife and mother of three'!

Reviewers have compared Jane to Norah Jones, Dido, Joni Mitchell and Aimee Mann amongst others, but we think Jane's country rock/pop sound has its own distinct flavour!
