Skyla Spencer debut album, "You Said You’d Call Me", Is Slated For Release In June

(May 12, 2005) - Skyla Spencer, an aspiring country music artist, shut down her Skyla Spencerdance studio, packed up her belongings, and moved from West Virginia to Music City two and a half years ago. Well on her way to being country’s next big star, Skyla is making a mark overseas and here in the United States. Some of her past releases have topped such charts as Indie World, Inside Country, Indie Tracker, and also charting on ECMA, Power Source Indie Chart, and the New Music Weekly Chart.

Skyla Spencer’s debut album, You Said You’d Call Me, is slated for release in June. Her next single, “You Said You’d Call Me,” will be hitting radio in June or July. Skyla says: ‘“You said You’d Call Me” was a blast to record! I feel many people will be able to relate to this song - both women and men". When asked how she describes her music, Skyla replies “My music is fun, energetic, & up-lifting. I love a sense of humor, and that shows through on some of my songs. I also enjoy writing ballads. Some of the songs on this album are from real life experiences, but it’s through these experiences, either good or bad, that I have become stronger. My first album is dedicated to the people I have lost in my life and to the troops who sacrifice so much for us.” The album features a song titled “If I Were Rain” that is a special dedication to the troops. It explains how, in the tough times that we are facing, the one thing that we can do is to pray for one another. “If I Were Rain” will be hitting Christian radio in July, and country radio in the fall.

Skyla Spencer showcased at CRS 2004, and has been an active participant in Fan Fair/CMA Music Fest for the last three years. This year, Skyla will be showcasing on the CCMA stage on June 8th, where she will be performing two original songs from her debut album. Skyla is scheduled to be at the Convention Center during the CMA Fest on Friday, June 10th and on Sunday, June 12th; more dates and times to come. She will also be appearing at the Texas Troubadour Theater for a meet-in-greet on Friday June 10th. Fans may also catch a glimpse of Skyla on the billboard next to the Ryman from May 15th-June 15th. For further information on where Skyla will be during Fan Fair, visit her website www.skylaspencer.com.
